We are always amazed with the the ideas people come up with to raise money for Two Wheels. We want to help our supporters achieve their big, small, wild, adventurous (or just plain silly) fundraising plans. If you’d like to help us in our mission but you’re stuck for an idea read on.
It’s hard to beat the fun of a motorbike rally. A great gang, spectacular views and an exhilarating ride, all ending in a cafe or pub, maybe with music and entertainment. And it’s even better if you’re doing it to raise money for a good cause. See what kind of rallies are being organised on The Biker Guide. Start yours in in your local area by inviting local friends and bike clubs.
You may have heard the buzz that's going around about Dirt Quake. This ‘rung what you brung’ series takes place on fast, loose-surface circuits. The concept is simple: race any bike that could pass an MOT, in the same kit you'd ride on the street. Your family and friends will be amazed to see you on the track and you’ll have a blast while raising money for your favourite cause. Entries cost just £65 plus race day insurance.
Whether you've challenged yourself to ride from Lands End to John O’Groats or finally get on Route 66, you can turn your adventure into a fundraising mission. Collete Coleman’s Great Motorcycle Journeys of the World and Great Motorcycle Tours of Europe are packed full of challenging rides. Just remember you’ll need to pay the costs of your trip before you start raising money.
Two Wheels for Life Experience Africa is not any old motorcycle tour. It is a chance to see the extraordinary work of the programmes we support, like Riders for Health's programmes in Lesotho. Those who take part ride the same bikes that health workers use across Africa to deliver health care. 2018/19 are already booked but we find most people need a year or two to raise the funds. Please get in touch if you are interested in 2020.
Just because you love the work of Two Wheels doesn’t mean you need to ride a motorbike. You might be thinking about running a marathon, climbing a mountain or sitting in a tub of baked beans. Run for Charity has come up with a great list of 100 ideas. Choose a challenge that your work colleagues, friends and family will get behind!
If you’re planning a fundraising mission please let us know. Whether it’s one of the ones we’ve suggested or something completely different we’d love to hear about it.
Two Wheels can offer support including providing branded clothing and helping promote your mission in our newsletter and blog as well as help with fundraising tools.
